So Friday night the Hubs and I went to look at some puppies to adopt. And we only planned to LOOK. However, we left Friday night with the newest member of our family.

We had been planning all along to get the kids a puppy for Christmas and when I saw this litter of puppies from the Humane Society, I couldn't pass them up. They were all so cute, but we could only take one. And she was the Lucky one.
The girls absolutely loved her and we FaceTimed Andrew so he could meet the new puppy too. The kids decided to name her Lucky. I'm not totally crazy about the name, but its not technically my dog so I didn't get a vote.
I had a dog as a kid, and we got her when she was a puppy but I was totally oblivious to all the work that goes into a puppy. I'm exhausted and it's only been 4 days. I haven't slept through the night since Friday, I've puppy proofed the house, putting up cords and toys that she might chew or eat. I've washed toys and blankets and cleaned my fair share of pee and poo. We are trying to crate train her, but it's hard work. I'm trying to see the light at the end of the tunnel and hope that this will only last a few weeks. Until then it's lots of coffee for me.
