Not only was it Halloween, but it was also the Fairy Tale Ball yesterday for my daughter's First grade class. They've been learning and reading fairy tales in class, so this was perfect opportunity for the kids to get to dress up and have a "party". However, my daughter did not have a fairy tale costume laying around the house. So I was the mom out at Wal-mart on Monday evening trying to find a princess costume in the picked over selection. I did luck out and find the only size small princess costume.
Isn't she a pretty, pretty princess?
So after I dropped the princess and her sister off at school, I headed to work for a few hours until it was time for the Fairy Tale Ball. Because I work an hour plus away and my work schedule doesn't always allow for me to take off to go to school parties, field trips and other functions, I try to make the ones that I can.
It looks to me like all the kids had a great time at their party. There was food, and dancing. What else could a bunch of 6 & 7 year olds ask for?
Doing the Cha-cha slide...too cute
After school I had to pick up the Fundraiser stuff that the kids (meaning, the Hubs and I) sold for the school. I took it home and figured out what went where and to whom. Of course, since most of it was cookie dough I had to find a place in my refrigerator for all this stuff.
The kids did homework and put away some laundry. I know, I'm mean. Making my kids do work on Halloween of all days.
Then it was time to get ready for the Fall Festival.
Our church puts on a huge Fall Festival every year and we always just do that instead of Trick or Treating. I don't think I've taking the kids Trick or Treating in years. There are games, food and of course candy. The Hubs has to get up so very early in the mornings for work, so he only stayed for a while.
Long enough for us to get our pictures made.
My mom was kind enough to say and help me out with the kiddos. She was able to say with one while the other went on to another game.
They were selling Funnel Cakes and we may have had 3...but Mady decided that she didn't like them, so more for me (and Audrey).
The hit of the Fall Festival was the golf cart rides. I know, sounds a little cheesy, but the kids loved it. I think they may have rode the golf cart 15 times. Once was enough for me though.
I finally tore them away and we headed home. But not without stopping at Grandma's for more candy.
Their sugar high only lasted for so long because these 2 little girls crashed in the car on the way home.
